AGE GROUP:  TEENS (12-18 YEARS)

Explore virtual reality with Google Cardboard: Create your own virtual realities via Google Cardboard! All you need is your smartphone and the Google Cardboard app. Cardboard viewers will be provided.

 

Discover MycroSchool  – Get your High School Diploma at your own pace

AGE GROUP:  ADULTS (19 AND UP)

Meet at Hawthorn Library to discover more about programs, sign-up, and job prep assistance for graduates from this accredited, NO COST Charter High School for ages 16 to 24. Providing FREE self-paced learning with flexible schedules. YOU can get your High School Diploma or participate in the over-aged 8th grader program! FREE Magnet Bus Transportation provided to site.

 

Storytime

AGE GROUP:  TODDLERS (1-3 YEARS),PRESCHOOL (3-5 YEARS),BABIES (1 AND UNDER)

Interactive storytime with literature-based fingerplays, art, music and puppetry for people identifying with age 5 and under and their caretakers.

 

Poetry Reading – Herbert Dupree

Join us for a late-summer poetry reading! Local poet Herbert Dupree will be here to showcase his new poetry collection, Laughter. Copies of his book will be available for purchase by the author.

Learn more about growing your garden and cooking from your garden. Join us as folks from UF’s Institute for Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) demonstrate how easy it is to plant your own garden and cook from it as well! We’ll be cooking up a yummy vegie stir-fry!
